App State Accessible Navigation

Information Design

This project addresses the need at Appalachian State for a navigational system for people with disabilities on campus. It involved analyzing several “problem spots” for people with limited mobility on campus, such as entering Sanford Hall and going from Wey Hall to the expression tunnels. This information was then used to create mock-ups of a hybrid web-based and physical solution that one could use to navigate campus effectively with limited mobility. We worked with the Office of Disability Services to gain a more in-depth look at the services that would best suit their needs, and factored that into the design of the final product.
